Scandal in Nigeria’s secret police as money meant for elections security operations goes missing.
The DG of Nigeria’s Secret Service DSS, Yusuf Bichi, is reported to have released only N15m for each state command which is a far cry from the initially amount of N10.2b approved as Virement by the National Assembly for the 2019 general elections operations.
This leaves a shortfall of around N9.4bn after the total of N555m for the 36 states and FCT.
There are allegations thaf sacked DSS chief Lawal Daura is still in charge of the outfit and that at least N5bn was released to him for undisclosed reasons.
